ABOUT ME

My name is Romualdo Amaral Silva and I am proud to be Brazilian. I graduated at the Federal University of Uberlandia in Brazil, where I was able to get my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science in 2012. At the Academy of Art, in 2019, I got my Master’s degree in Fine Arts with emphasis in 3D Character Animation and VFX.

I was born in Uberlandia, in 1989 and I’ve always been excited, since I was child, about how animation movies were made. In 2007 I started my graduation in Computer Science and when I took Computer Graphics Class, I realized that the world of Computer Animation and VFX was the world that I would like to study and work with for the rest of my life.

My first contact with animation, after college, was a Basic Animation course I took in 2014 at Collaborative Animation and after that I decided to start my Master’s Degree in 3D Animation.

I graduated from the Academy of Art University as 3D Animator and Visualization Artist. After receiving my MFA in 3D Animation, I’ve not only put together my own successful Thesis/Project that I was able to create, but I’ve also directed and produced a 3D animated short movie. Regarding other activities, I had also supported other 2D, 3D and Stop Motion Collaborative Projects in Pre-Production and Production process, I was Staff Member of Tea Time Animation Club and I’ve also developed 3D Animation Shots for Collaborative Projects and for my Reel.

As a successful student, animator, director and producer at Academy of Art University, I’ve learned and acquired experience supporting my team as far as troubleshooting goes with shots, Character Design, Modeling, Rigging, Texturing, Lighting and FX, giving and receiving feedbacks, maintaining schedules and pipelines. As an animator I was able to learn and put on practice all of the 12 principles of animation, I created sequences of shots from storyboards and/or script pages to enhance story, I establish character blocking and camera layout, I animated human character, creatures and props, and also, I understood the physical motion, weight and balance of the animation.

In the Film Industry, I had the opportunity to work as Visualization Artist and 3D Animator in the MARVEL's Show “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", DISNEY's “Chip 'n' Dale: Rescue Rangers", some ads for Alienware/Dell/Intel, UNIVERSAL's “Ambulance", LIONSGATE's “Borderlands", SONY's “Lyle, Lyle Crocodile"and other shows/movies from NETFLIX, SONY, PEPSI and PARAMOUNT that still TBA.

One of my key strengths includes both understanding, communicating, supporting different tasks from the pipeline, while being sensitive to the needs of the directors and producers. I am a “people’s person” and an enthusiastic self-starter as well.
